I think the car would like killer with satin black paint and those black rims. I'm not sure if the rims alone give it enough change.

Black is good

cdacda13 09-15-2008 09:57 AM

Do it.

WildBillyT 09-15-2008 09:57 AM

I would say do it only if you can get that exact type of look, like anodized. A rattle can job will look like **** and cheapen the look of the car IMO.

GP99GT 09-15-2008 09:58 AM

well im pretty good with a rattle can, and if i wet sand it and clear it, it should come out like a real black wheel

Ok, cool. I have just seen too many rattle canned wheels that chip and look really terrible after a short while.

If is does come out terrible, its spray paint, it will come off with some paint thinner.

i voted no but i ment yes

I think would look great. Red is one of few colors that pulls off a black rim really well. Here is a link to paint a set of salad shooters. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2357346/3

I painted mine the exact way and I rocked them last winter when I had my chrome ten spokes. They lasted all winter and still look great, Wet sanding each coat was key for a nice shine but if you want a satin look then i wouldn't worry about it. GL and get some pics when its done.

black spinners. go.

Anti_Rice_Guy 09-15-2008 01:38 PM

Black all the way

ar0ck 09-15-2008 01:54 PM

I say go for the 1993 Cobra R look. I know you said the centers are rough around the edges but you could either re-sand and repaint them graphite grey like original and color in the pony, or find a cheap set on ebay or craigslist. I'm sure they are a dime a dozen.

Knipps 09-15-2008 02:02 PM

Do it.

Brando56894 09-15-2008 02:26 PM

black is way too common these days...

Z28Justin 09-15-2008 03:35 PM

only if it has a real nice gloss, flat black wheels are ugly!!:barf:

UserName 09-15-2008 03:59 PM

never go wrong with FLAT BLACK:rock:

bcgetfresh 09-15-2008 04:32 PM

looks good with black

edpontiac91 09-15-2008 04:37 PM

OK, so here we go against the grain. The FLAT BLACK has the look like it has 127 layers of BRAKE DUST on it. If they were shiny BLACK, with a polished lip it might look better, but again, just my :2cents: Maybe a set of CHROME COBRA wheels would really set it off, but I don't know your cash flow.

GP99GT 09-15-2008 05:03 PM

it will be gloss black, not flat...polished lip = more work than its worth for stock wheels

69BirdX 09-15-2008 05:11 PM

Im gonna get my ten holes powder coated black and the center caps left polished on the notch. Thats what the cop cars where
