got a ?

approx how long does it take a PM to reach the party you send it to. when you both are on line? thx

sweetbmxrider 10-09-2008 03:42 PM

its sent instantly. if the receiving party is online, they will be interrupted on their browser with the new private message box. if they are offline, the next time they sign in the box will appear immediately to notify them about new pm's. i was pming a few people back and forth last night and had two new ones when i signed in today 8-) thats how i know

sweetbmxrider 10-09-2008 04:04 PM

kinda like i did. haha. i'm sure internet connections and server loads play into it but its not like iming someone. or 8.90 in the quarter :-P

It cetainly is no 8.9 in the quarter. It's just ow fast the recipient responds. Internet connection may play a small factor.

98Gsxr750 10-09-2008 04:07 PM

certainly*

some people have the PM notification turned off. if they do, it may take them a while to notice they have a new one. other than that PMs are sent instantly.

WildBillyT 10-09-2008 04:54 PM

It's as fast as the database can execute a SQL query, so probably a few milliseconds? The notification depends on internet connection, and like Melissa said- if notification is off somebody might not notice.
