Turbo Help??

Hey just wondering if someone could help me out, I don't feel like i'm getting full power out of my turbo, not sure exactly how compressor surge sounds but on the highway or whenever i get on it...it sounds like a fluttering noise at full boost, now i do have an open waste gate to a dump tube...the wastegate size is a 38mm...maybe it is too small?? Or i need a tighter spring?? All my hoses are tight does not appear to have any boost leaks... New to the turbo thing...so i'm trying to figure this stuff out...

377 single turbo
Tial 38mm wastegate 5.6 lbs spring i think
Greddy Type RS BOV
Turbo specs...SPA 7000M - T4... A.R 96...compressor trim 46, turbine trim 76 i'm pretty sure

what boost are you running at? the wastegate spring holds double what it is. so you will hold about 11 pounds. you have a boost gauge and manual boost controller?

its around 8-9 on the gauge ..and with a manual boost controller

try getting it closer to 11 and see if it improves at all. it is tuned correct? maybe have a buddy watch the gauge and rev it up while you watch the dump to ensure its holding to 11 lbs. also snap the throttle to check there are no obvious boost leaks. i'm no turbo guru, but thats my thoughts.

Have you verified that the WG and BOV are sealing properly? I had issues with my Bypass due to low vacuum.

if it is surging, while on the highway you will feel a pulsing in the power of the car and the boost guage going up / down

Well the gauge seems to be steady, but it just doesn't feel right , it sounds strange..
