upgrading an lt1

well it looks like im going to start planning on doing an lt1 rebuild to have a back up motor incase the 406 pops. anything i can do to bump up the power a bit. i think i might stick with stock bottom end, maybe throw a different cam in.

Be careful on the cam, if you get to extreme you run the risk of throwing bearings and spinning out the motor. There are tons of custom grind combination to fit whatever type of application you want to use with the car. To save cost you can't beat stock ported heads & matching intake, with the typical intake & exhaust mods you should make plenty of power. The LT1's are great at making low end torque.

yea. im probably just going to leave the bottom end alone. and re gasket the whole motor and put some ported aluminum heads on there.

also this motor has oil cooler lines going to the oil filter can i delete that?

Yes, just unbolt the cooler and bolt on the filter adapter.

LE2s, cam depending on emmisions, LTs or mids again depending on emmisions, CAI and all the simple stuff. 400 hp easy.

i think my car is almost at the cut off age wise where i might not need inspection but ill probably register it as a collectors because im not going to be driving it all the time
