what to do when bored at work!
ok... so i work in a hospital in the information systems department...basically i wait around all day for a work order to come in and for me to go fix some computer problem. since i am still a student, I am only working here over the breaks and don't get too many work orders...even though i am more than competent to fix all of the problems and then some...long story short... i sit here for the majority of the day looking for things to do...any suggestions? any interesting sites that are updated daily that i can read / interact with?

When I'm bored at work I'll go pinch a loaf at the bathroom on the opposite end of the office. It's a solid 2m walk and when I'm in there I'll play some brickbreaker on my phone, browse the forums for a bit, and then walk back. All said and done I can waste a solid 20 minutes. Boredom is a funny thing.

"Well, I generally come in at least fifteen minutes late, ah, I use the side door - that way Lumbergh can't see me, heh heh - and, uh, after that I just sorta space out for about an hour." "Yeah, I just stare at my desk; but it looks like I'm working. I do that for probably another hour after lunch, too. I'd say in a given week I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual, work. "
I work in a High School substitute teaching & doing hall duty. Not a whole lot to do either and absolutely no access to the internet. I spend most of my time doodling, doing homework, taking down notes for ideas I have, or I read novels & the paper. |
