Found some pics of my old Camaro!!

This was my first car, a 1988 Camaro Sport Coupe.
It had fresh paint and TT2's when I bought it....

And then, it was all gone once it got hit and totaled by a red light runner. My parents didn't want me to keep it due to the lack of airbags/working seatbelts.

Here it is after I bought my TA

My neighbor owns a junkyard. He had another 3rd gen there, so he bought it and was going to fix it up. He swapped the front clips, and has an engine from a 454SS that he wanted to put in it. He hasn't worked on it for a while though.

I miss that car. It was a slowww 2.8L automatic but it sure made alot of memories.

Too bad, looked nice. Except the no working seat belt part. I would have taken the car from you, lol.

that was a great lookin car. seatbelts are pretty necessary though.

That car was a tank too. It needed one repair the whole time I owned it, a MAF sensor. Once it was in the accident i drove it with the damage and a leaky radiator all the way to philly for almost a month. (about 45 min drive in traffic each way). The entire system would drain out before I even made it to school, and it would do the same on my way home, I carried a big jug of water with me in the back seat. It took a month of doing that 5 days a week before the head gasket blew and slayed it for good.

the TA all new and shiney

Its a shame to see it sit there and waste away. I plan on keeping my first car forever lol.

Yeah once I get a DD i plan to begin the TA mod-a-thon and maybe someday pick up another 3rd gen.

NJSPEEDER 01-11-2009 07:19 PM

That was a sharp lookin car.

There were corroded wires in plugs, it stalled and needed repairs almost weekly, bad trans when i got it and everything that the woman said she replaced needed to be replaced again

bandit that's a shame, my camaro was all redone by a ford mechanic before I bought it... i guess he did a good job. nice looking firebird though. I spent as much in repairs on the TA as I spent on just my Camaro. Guess its a pontiac thing? haha.

bandit88 01-13-2009 07:54 AM

my lolo3 is wonderful.... you can put her through anything and she'll run..... i heard it was the pontiac 2.8

my girlfriend had a white Camaro in high school with the 2.8 (5spd) and it was wonderful

i junked that thing in worries of lemon law coming back to haunt me
