Thats exactly what I was thinking Melissa, the story was like: car flipped, hit pole, kid died, could that have been anymore vague?

I might be going out on a limb here but I see driver error. Id love to damn Darwin but...

Unrelated maybe but I commute from Old Bridge to Neptune everyday. Its usually a 38 min commute. As soon as I hit 18 from 9 I was stopped in traffic. Some moron in a 03ish SportTrac Explorer/PU had a mangled LF nose. 1/4 mile down the road I see a Wrangler with a rear pitched so far caster from the right it looked like a kiddie roller coaster ride rear. No other cars near him but a cop. Not an 1/8th mile further some chick in a SL Saturn facing the wrong way in the median had assistance from a statie (Troopers patrol and assist on rt 18). Took me darn near 20 mins to drive 2 miles.

Stupid is as stupid does.

fixed.

I have almost no sympathy to people who get into these crashes and don't wear seatbelts. I know that sounds mean and hateful but it literally takes 2 seconds to snap in. Trying to look cool? How old are we now...

QFT. Like you said it takes two seconds. Since I put on my seatbelt everytime i get into my car, its become a habit, and i do it everytime i drive... which is a good thing.

I could see losing traction on cold tires and with salt on the road, I know my car broke loose the other night because of it. But to drive one of these cars in the winter without a seatbelt is just dumb. I was noticing how white the roads are right now from all the ground in salt. You need to pay attention to conditions and that includes the temperature because the tires will not hold traction when extremely cold.

just to play devils advocate, my cousin crashed his foxbody mustang while not wearing his seatbelt, and it actually saved his life because he was thrown from the car before it wrapped around a tree.

I still wear my seatbelt though, he was just one of those one in a million examples.

Many factors happened, some preventable some not, fact remains a life was lost and should sober us up a bit. Life is like a vapor can be snuffed out in an instant. Our pride and joy's to us are awesome(f-body or otherwise).Buckle-up,lighten-up,and hopefully live to see another day to enjoy what we love.
