I filed two weeks ago....it was approved by the IRS on Tuesday and I'm getting $1,100 back.....Atlantic City here I come!!

In a way thats a good thing, in reality the closer you are to 0 the less the govt is taking advantage of you, hence the reason you can change your dependants & such...if you can get to +/-$100 thats pretty darn good.

If you are getting back $2000 it means you were giving the gov't money they could earn interest on for 12 months and now are giving you back a few bucks.

Yea, but what do I care, I have no dependents, I just wanted a big check to spend on go fast parts. :(

Everybody always talks about the money they are getting back- forgetting that it's your money that the government has kept from you until now. You could have been earning inerest on it in the meantime.

i'm gonna owe money, because my 1 job doesnt with hold, but like bill and billy have said, I've self-withheld and had it in a savings account gaining interest, minimal as it may be. I also need to sit down and chart out all of my write off's for that job and opening a business. i might end up owing nothing, and then i'll have over $2k as my "return" that I already have :)

I like that they hold my money....if they didnt, it woulda been blown on something stupid....now i can take all the money they held and go on a trip...
