The Reason why I'm up late

My new roommate has a massive snoring/talking in his sleep/making weird noises problem while sleeping. He's woken me up the last week in the middle of the night big snoring streak. (It usually occurs between 3:30-4:00)
Normally, I just try to get to sleep before him, and when he wakes me up, I just kick his bed to wake him up, then run back to bed like nothing happened.
The problem tonight includes the fact that he got to sleep before me, and he seems to have adjusted to the kicking tricked, thus making it useless.
He also likes to keep the room a scorching 90+. He refuses to turn on the fan or open window. So I have to sleep with loud noises all night long while sweating my balls off.
[/Rant]
Back to the ipod for now I guess.

BigAls87Z28 01-27-2009 01:32 AM

Id lose my ****ing mind. I HATE hot temps. HATE. Combine that with loud noises and lack of sleep = dead bodies.

Im up because I had to pick up my gf's sister and her bf from the dealer after the tranny in her Escape blew up in Roseland. After hours of waiting and two AAA tows, over 300 bucks later, we are home and getting ready to go to bed.

cdacda13 01-27-2009 01:34 AM

Al, I'm slowly waiting for insomnia to kick in. Any lawyers here know if that's a valid defense against a murder charge?
And yes, hot temps suck while trying to sleep.

BigAls87Z28 01-27-2009 01:37 AM

Hot temps suck no matter what. I would seriously hurt someone. I cannot explain not comfortable I am when it gets hot out.

RiggsLW81 01-27-2009 02:20 AM

punch him in the nuts and say it was the c**k fairy paying him a visit

Your roommate might have sleep apnea (which could kill him if he doesnt get it checked out) Tell him he needs to go see a sleep doctor i used to do the same ****. Martin and my mom (who slept 2 rooms away) couldnt sleep at nite cuz i snored, moaned and kicked in my sleep. found out i had really bad sleep apnea and now I use a CPAP machine and everyone sleeps like a baby lol

Yea my dad has sleep apnea and now he has to sleep with a darth vader mask. but it keeps him from snoring.

+1 my dad has the same thing

CHRIS67 01-27-2009 07:02 AM

CPAP Machine?

CamaroGirlie 01-27-2009 07:21 AM

I love my CPAP machine....greatest freakin invention

cdacda13 01-27-2009 10:04 AM

I thought he might have sleep Apnea, but violence against a bed post is a much easier answer. And this new roommate and I aren't as close as my last roommate and I.

Edited for wording.

i have had this issue my freshman year, the thing i did was not violence but hilarious, i took his pillow case and used the inside of the pillow case instead of toilet paper after droping the kids off at the pool. Its gross i know, but i hated my roomate freshman year.
I also cooked some cookies for him and put a laxative in all his cookies =D

dont worry about the sleep apnea thing  thats his deal. Wear ear plugs.. like the soft foamy kind you can find at cvs or whatever.. they're WONDERFUL. its just hard to hear you're alarm in the morning, but i used to use them when my roommates were up typing a paper (keyboard drives me nuts when trying to sleep) or a party down the hall.. also works with snoring.

what year escape? my buddy has an 08 and is complaining that the tranny feels like its slipping. he bought a bunch of ford tranny fluid and i think he replaced it. dono if its a problem.

the overall situation sucks. you should tell him/parents/school to consult a sleep doctor or get a new roommate

LTb1ow 01-27-2009 11:05 AM

Soap on a rope!

NJSPEEDER 01-27-2009 11:09 AM

I would turn the heat off and open the window all the way while he was snoring. If he tries to say anything, just tell him that if you are gonna be kept up al night you figured you should at least be comfortable

KirkEvil 01-27-2009 11:09 AM

buy a super soaker

2005. My gf and now my mom have the same car.

My sophmore year, my roommate did something similar. Only he would eat chips in the middle of the night. I would try to hide the laughter.

Use, propel, discharge, spread or conceal, or cause to be used, propelled, discharged, spread or concealed, any human excrement or bodily fluid:

(2) Under circumstances in which the excrement or bodily fluid is reasonably likely to come into physical contact with any portion of the body , whether or not such physical contact actually occurs.

yeah its illegal to do what you did

Crayface 01-27-2009 12:10 PM

im going to just add that to the list of things ive done illegal then, that roomate still to this day doesnt know, so i guess what he doesnt know cant hurt him??? i normally would never do this but this guy did numerous things that just made me go off.

Knipps 01-27-2009 12:31 PM

If he's snoring and you're uncomfortable with the room as hot as it is, open the window.. If he gets cold he'll wake up (and stop snoring!)

Teds89IROC 01-27-2009 01:04 PM

I would be so pissed off. As other said I would just open the window and turn down the thermostat when you wake up from him.
