Carburetor Shops in North NJ?
 

was wondering if you guys know any good shops in northen nj, i dont want to buy a new carb but i am looking to get mine rebuilt.

its edlebrock, i dunno the model, i know its 4 barrel carb, its at a shop right now but i will look up when i get it back

I know a speed shop near me that just recently closed down but I got one of the guys numbers and he can rebuild ANYTHING. He's super old school and his work is quality and cheap.

i been talking to some of my friends and i decided that i was going to buy a new carb remanufactured. I been looking at some edlebrock ones that run around the 250 dollar range so my next question what carb should i look into? i dunno much about carbs, also i was going to get a new intake manifold, what kinds of manifolds should i look into and stay away from?

if u want 1 of the best carbs money can buy i can set u up with an A.E.D. they work flawless! u can probably pick one up for around 450.00 which is a steal for the performance and reliability they provide. i myself have used over 6 of them for engine builds and have compared them to others and im extremely satisfied with this company. pm me for more details!

i dunno if i want to spend 450 on a AED carb, not saying there bad but i would like to stick to edelbrock, i found a carb and a manifold online and i was wondering if they would be good to purchase...

Any particular reason you want to keep an edelbrock carb?

eh my dad and my good friend that races used a lot of holly and edelbrock. And i know holly is pricey.... what would you suggest other than edelbrock? right now im willing to spend around 500$ for a manifold and carb

I would grab a holly over an edelbrock in a performance application any day.

What engine and mods do you have?

its a 5.7L 350, and all it has on it now is flowmasters exhaust. i would buy holly but my money doesnt grow on trees.....unfortunatly

Look for a used Holly 650 vac. secondary and a used dual plane intake.

I was able to buy a rebuilt (to my specs) Holly 750 double pumper from a member here for $250.

I would keep to a 650 carb unless the motor is heavily modified. The 750 I got was for a mildly built 400" small block.

Not sure if the intake would work or not, depends on what year heads you have.

this place does high quality work...had them do work for me on the carb in my 83 chevy caprice, and i was very happy.

you get what you pay for... you basically pay 1 doller per cfm for a great carb... but from what you sorta explained a nice out of the box holley should do fine...

CFM = Cubic Feet per Minute

It's a measure of how much air the carb allows into the engine.
