Wrestling anyone?
 

ubg notices some wrestling events from time to time in the Central area [REAL CENTRAL!] and was wondering if anybody would be up for hitting one? They are usually a lot of fun, and ya get a good show for the $. Plus most of the guys are approachable for handshakes/autograhs. At the last show I went to I got a picture of the Sandman putting me in a headlock, and I got my picture taken with Vader, and he signed a dollar bill for me. Vader was funny as hell, after he signed the bill he said "Son, you know that is your best friend, right?" lol I'll kep my eyes open and post up anything that is coming around. With all the tuff guys on this board I figured it would be a natch to go to something like a rasslin' match.

What kind of wrestling is it?

The REAL fake kind!

Wadda ya mean it ain't fun? Ya try abusing boxers and yer azz'll get thrown outa the joint....:-x

I just have never seen the appeal to "fake" wrestling, I dunno maybe its just me. But hell, get a group of guys together and we can drink and make fun of pill popping crazies?

Think of it as a testosterone-filled soap opera.

It's "fake" in that it isn't scripted and that they are trying to avoid killing each other in the ring vs. what is implied on TV. But there is a ton of stuff that isn't faked and some stuff that is exciting to watch.

And local wrestling can be a blast to see. These guys haven't "made it" yet, so they REALLY do some ****ed up ****. I used to watch CZW (out of Philly) in the early '00s and it was wild. Guys stapling shirts to each other's heads, breaking flourescent light bulbs over each other, using a weed whacker, etc. Wild, wild stuff.

im not afraid to say i dig wrestling...its entertaining. been to many live wrestling events, independent and WWE..its just a soap opera for guys as BillyT said... besides, it never has an offseason, so now that football is over, my attention goes straight back to WWE..

I like rasslin' for the same reasons I like action flicks. It's entertaining, fun, and I don't have to think about what's going on.
