I swear i called it... So tonight at around 11:30pm, while i was driving home on the back roads i was coming up on to traffic so i switched off my high beams, when a blue flash happened and my passenger low beam headlight blew. When that happened i knew i would attract attention to myself so i slowed to the speed limit and set the cruise knowing that i will probably get pulled over by the time i get home. I got within 2 miles of my house and i passed a cop. I watched him in my mirrors and sure enough he turned around and raced up behind me. He pulls me over and before he can even ask license and registration i say "let me guess it is because my headlight is out" I give him my information and he says he pulled me over for the headlight. I explain the story and that if he saw me ten minutes ago it would have been working. He checked my license which is clean and said he was giving me a warning. If i got a ticket i would have fought it. I mean I had no chance to fix it due to it blowing out on the same exact drive that he pulled me over. I must have jinxed myself for this but whatever, it just shows that the cops are looking hard to get any tickets written that they can. |

If that were the case, wouldn't you have gotten a ticket? |

Well, at least he gave you the warning. - Justin |

happened to me too...just be honest with police officers and make sure you keep your hands where they can see them, and be respectful. the honesty alone means a lot in their books. |

you werent a dick... he wasnt a dick... it all works out |
|
lol how would he know it "just happened" anyway? for all he knows, you might not have known, and now you do... |
|
yeah it all worked out for the best. I am not complaining that he pulled me over. He is just doing his job. I just found it somewhat funny that it blew ten minutes prior and that i had the feeling that i would get pulled over before i made it home |

don't worry i got pulled over this week too....... speeding the guy was nice and gave me no points so i can't complain |

Too bad they don't give out tickets for stupidity. |

You know i had the exact same thing happen to me...except i didnt know my low beam burn out because i was in a well lit area when the cop pulled me over...I told him it was working before i left the house and if it was out i wouldnt have driven the car. He was really chill about because my inspection was over due at the time and my windshield was cracked. I was completely honest with him though and he said that if i lied to him he would have impounded my car. |

haha sounds farmilar to me. in my 90 fbird my right low beam is out so at night i would have to drive with hi beams on. my horn fuse blew so everytime i would come up and someone wasnt moving id flick high beams on and off constant |
