No, an electric motor moves it in and out to adjust idle. Try cleaning the end of really well with carb cleaner if it's all gunked up. It might be getting stuck which could be causing your problem.
i would consider just replacing it and cleaning carbon build up in the throttle body

My bad, Jim I have another TB too in my garage, I'll bring over my box of stock parts and we'll just go through it all.

okay thanks alex. now the guy at the parts place thinks it might be a bad injector. he thinks when it gets hot it stays open and when i shut it off it floods the cylinder. he doesnt think that its the IAC because when it starts up when its hot it would be running very high rpm's.
Well thats an easy test, check to see if the rails lose pressure really quickly. Although I doubt its an injector.
okay, i'm going to do that tomorrow or tonight after class.
