FU GI auto salvage
its no longer a u-pull-it!!!! i drive there to find it totaly fenced in with a sign sayin enter the office only! i turned around and left!
|
it still is a u-pull it. you walk in through the office then out into the yards. although 99% of their cars are gone. its mostly an empty field, with only a tiny handful of cars left. they have one lot with newer cars, maybe a football field sized. hardly anything worthwhile, and not like it used to be 8yrs ago.

lol no ****?
yea there used to be a TON of cars in there... there was actually a wrecked durango with the shelby body kit! |
i remember going there years back when they had the 2 suicide door continentals there, the digital dash GTA, bunch of v8 notchbacks, an iron maiden camaro with the dig dash and weird middle radio panel that moved side to side....the 97 camaro with stobe taillights possible b4c...

That would have been a Berlinetta trim. Only available until 86 or 87, those radios go for a good penny in working order, especially if you have the amp to go with it. Berlinetta's also had a unique gauge and control set available most year, 15 inch alloy "turbine" wheels, and the usual badging package that come in any special trim. |

it was on the console but it was like standing up on a swivel.... i never seen one before that and i never saw one after that.... it was cool imma try to find a pic now |
|
Yup, that is a Berlinetta. Very rare in this part of the country. The largest percentage of the units produced sold in Cali and the south west. The specialty pieces were just way to expensive, so GM dropped it.
A friend of mine had an 86 Berlinetta, hardtop, auto, LG4 when we were in high school. Finding parts for it was a bitch and getting the radio and amp repaired cost a fortune. |
what do the extra 4 switches do????
|
that place has been going down hill for years

I think one was cruise control on/off(actual cruise controls are on steering wheel), one was rear defrost, one thing for power mirrors, and I forget what else. The whole controls system those cars used was funky. |
I went past GI the other day and it looked dead. Last time I was there they had a decent 92 RS which had great GFX aside from the chin spoiler until they plopped it on the ground with no wheels or tires...idiots
|
their cleaning the place up little by little to build office buildings in the next couple of years
|
are there any other good U-pull it yards around. preferably around central nj

fail. not a shelby kit. only the rear bumper. the exhaust melted a huge hole in it and the interior is nasty as hell. and when i went the guy walked me to the car and stood with me like wtf. and they are now wayyy over priced. i paid like 15 bucks for a window motor for the firebird when i went and i go for durango parts and they want 45 bucks for damaged clear corners when i could get better looking brand new ones for 50! gi went down the ****ter. idk if its new owners or what....and roxbury auto now has no cars...they crushed them all! |
i went there today...got myself some fog lights for my rear bumper exhaust holes...guy wanted 30 bucks and they werent even that good so i gave him 20. came with 2 good bulbs and connectors. so it wasnt too bad.
