Teds89IROC 02-28-2009 11:26 AM

I figured we would have one more big storm before we say goodbye to winter, I just hope it is substantial and then that's it till next year.

Tsar 02-28-2009 01:14 PM

Suppose to be sunny in PA

cdacda13 02-28-2009 02:05 PM

I love the auto 4wd feature my truck has.

Winter sucks. Just go away.

//<86TA>\\ 02-28-2009 02:38 PM

that much snow? i really doubt it. Everytime there is a chance of snow the weather people blow it up into a blizzard, then it rains....

If it does snow it had better be a big one, or i will be pissed. I need the salt to finish washing off the roads so i can get my car inspected!!!!

WildBillyT 02-28-2009 02:45 PM

Weather.com isn't mentioning any accumulation number...

It is if you check the warning notice.

DaSkinnyGuy 02-28-2009 03:03 PM

Suppose to get 4-6" here in NC

Iroc-z86 02-28-2009 03:06 PM

heh the idiot weather people couldnt predict the weather if they were looking at the sky and saying what is going on at the same moment. I doubt we are getting anything more than a dusting and even that is doubtful. I am sick of winter and this stupid cold weather. it needs to go away now.

Yeah, but that's not updated frequently.

Maybe, not but you said they didn't put up an accumulation :moon:

JL8Jeff 02-28-2009 03:19 PM

You can feel that it's damp and cold outside like we're in for something big. I hope it misses us to the east, but we're due for something.

Camaro67_rcl 02-28-2009 03:31 PM

Maybe I'll finally get to try my new snow blower :)

Watch Notice for Mercer County

Quote:

Statement as of 3:13 PM EST on February 28, 2009

... Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from Sunday evening
through Monday morning...

A complex area of low pressure was continuing to develop over the
southeastern states. Part of this low will move northeastward and
it should bring a light wintry mix to our region tonight into
Sunday. However... the main low pressure system is forecast to
move off Cape Hatteras Sunday night and there is the potential for
a significant snowfall from Sunday night into Monday. There
continues to be a lot of uncertainty with the computer models as
to the exact track of the low. If the system moves further to the
south or east, then less precipitation will fall. If the system is
further west, then the higher amounts will shift westward as well.

The potential exists for 5 to 9 inches of snow across much of the
watch area with a 4 to 6 inch potential in northeast Maryland and
central and southern Delaware.

Just to the west of the watch area, 4 to 6 inches of snow may fall
in east central Pennsylvania and the Poconos.

Additionally, the wind is expected to become strong and gusty on
Monday, behind the departing storm. Wind gusts could reach 35 mph,
which would cause reduced visibilities in blowing and drifting
snow. Also, the strong wind coupled with temperatures hovering in
the 20s will make for bitter wind chill temperatures on Monday.

The National Weather Service will continue to update forecasts
and statements over the course of the weekend with the latest
information regarding the potential snow event.

Travel could become very hazardous Sunday night into Monday. Please take
this opportunity to make the necessary preparations for a potential
winter storm.
That's the most recent bit I found. Sounds like it's gonna be just enough to make the Monday morning commute pretty nasty for all of the 9-5ers.

Did you get this by popping it out? i did that 3 years ago and now my shoulder is all messed up. It hurts if i strain it and pops out very easily now.

On the thread, you cant complain that much as it has been much better than last year IMO. Just cold and boring with no real snow. It has been really warm for feb esp that one week with the 65 degree day. Cant remember... and even fri and sat were pretty nice.

Actually, this Feb has been much colder than last year. We had 2 really warm days all month but most of the month was below normal. Jan was even more colder than last year. We just got lucky this year and every time a storm got here it warmed up enough to be mostly rain(except for the northern areas). There is still a chance this thing goes far enough off the coast that we barely get much and I hope that happens. But I'm preparing for a lot of shoveling. I'll most likely be working from home on Monday.

bubba428 02-28-2009 09:01 PM

WOOO HOOOO this means BIG money for me........The company I work for just picked up the contract for police towing in ventor. If cars are on the street the trucks can't plow...BRING THE BLIZZARD!!!!!!
