IAT relocation

Im lookin at a moroso cai and it comes witha jet IAT relocation. is it worth using it? i heard it makes you car run richer because it messes with the a/f ratio

does it give you any gains in anything?

LTb1ow 03-06-2009 12:43 PM

Don't mess with the IAT.

98tadriver 03-06-2009 12:47 PM

all it does show a colder IAT temp, and i believe it just advances timing a lil

you should not be on forums during school! jk. i know you're just sitting in the yearbook room making transmissions out of legos haha.

are you two seriously talking to each other in class through the forums? Dn't be gay.

Very unoticable difference relocating the IAT. I relocated it on my 91 TBi bird. Then replaced it with a resistor so show cold temperatures all the time, and still noticed nothing.

i have early release so i was home. he does too but he was still at school when he posted this. it was a joke.

It probably adds a little power in hotter weather by the IAT giving a lower air temp reading the computer probably adds a little more fuel and timing. But if that causes it to ping or knock at all, it will pull even more back out and you end up losing instead of gaining power.

I did this on mine (bottom of Moroso CAI air filter). Not sure if I can feel a difference, but I figured it wouldn't hurt since the WS6 models already have the sensor located in the filter box (from the factory).

I also figured this would be better than the resistor mod, or an IAT sensor that always shows a low temperature (even when 90+ outside).

just get a mail order tune if you want more. safest way to go IMO
