1989 Trans Am

So I was driving down S. Broad Street in Hamilton and I saw this gorgous trans am in the gas station parking lot next to the Acme. I pulled in to check out the For Sale sign. 1989 Trans Am, 39,000 miles $8,000 firm......Nice looking car and all....hard top, needs minor if no body work. KBB'd the car and they were like $3,000 retail value in excellent condition. I'm in the market for another f-body, but isn't that an absolutely ridiculous price?

it is a lil high too high, i actually had to lower the price of mine, but nobody has baught it yet, if your still lookin, i got one

hardtop TTA with 39K miles should go for more than double that!

HeadlessNorseman 03-31-2009 01:17 PM

People DO seem to think their cars are worth me than they really are because of iroc/trans am status, or minor bolt ons, low miles, etc. Just talk him down if you have cash. Just tell him take it or leave it.

No TTA. Just ur average everyday run of the mill trans am

It's high, but with only 39k miles I would expect the seller to ask more than whatever dinky price KBB is gonna spit out for a 20 year old car. $8k is prolly a little too high though.

agreed 8k is to much $$$

NastyEllEssWon 03-31-2009 04:48 PM

its a little bit high but if its in the right condition the right buyer will buy it.

how often do you have a chance to buy an almost brand new condition thirdgen. if it was like 4500 it would garner a lot of attention. 8k gives the seller a nice block to bargain from

I told him I was willing to pay cash but the price was king of steep and he wouldn't budge a penny

what offer did you put in? u told him you have cash in hand? it appeals to people to say that, also if you say you have cash in hand make sure you tell him it could be gone by the end of the week, a few days, etc. just in case hes desperate for money..

is the motor all original?

Mulletbird 04-08-2009 05:34 PM

With a price like $8k firm, it doesn't sound like that seller's desperate for money. Usually when they are, you'll see "OBO" like what I'll be doing with the 15" rims at the swap meet.

Masonite 04-08-2009 05:48 PM

would that be 39k original miles? even so, I wouldn't pay much over $5k for that.
