Dashboard lit up

ABS,ASR,Airbags,Security and low oil lights are all on.

The only ones I care about are the ABS and airbags. I removed the ASR motor when I first went to burp the engine and all the lights came on, oops. So then I plugged it back in and I am now resetting the PCM. However, its just chilling next to my CAI and I would like to rid myself of it for good. I have read that you cannot delete ASR and still have ABS, but being as most cars don't have ASR I find that hard to believe. No way in hell GM made two different PCMs for auto cars or somehow managed to "lock" the ABS and ASR together.

Ideas? Comments? Concerns?

yeah i got a comment: dam dude that sucks...

Its not really a problem, I mean ABS is useful in the snow but its spring. I just want to get things fixed so people don't think my car is a POS.

sweetbmxrider 04-06-2009 03:44 PM

we don't think that, we know that! i'm going to look into this though. i bet you need a different abs brain $$$$

What? ABS is useful all year round!

69BirdX 04-06-2009 04:48 PM

I dont have ABS because of the rear but i wish i did

98tadriver 04-06-2009 04:53 PM

ABS ftw a few times for me

LTb1ow 04-06-2009 05:34 PM

Ok fine, but I don't tailgate in this car and for the most part am a stellar driver in it. That being said, any constructive ideas?

69BirdX 04-06-2009 05:38 PM

Abs would of saved me 6gs

LTb1ow 04-06-2009 05:51 PM

That directed at me? Cause there isn't anything wrong with my friggen ABS except GM decided to tie ABS and ASR together for some reason.

Knipps 04-06-2009 05:58 PM

yes. if you think you're better than ABS you're an idiot.

Good god. Someone just delete the thread please?

Knipps 04-06-2009 06:04 PM

why because someone ruined your thread for once?

LTb1ow 04-06-2009 06:06 PM

Perhaps, but its not even a good thread ruining.

Knipps 04-06-2009 06:09 PM

I'm not sure about the last two, but back in the day in heavy rain my ABS & ASR lights would come on if the sensors got wet.

LTb1ow 04-06-2009 07:03 PM

No its not the system failing or anything, I deleted the ASR and when I went to start it forgot to plug in the ASR motor, so everything went to hell and it throws all the lights it can.

I have found that you can just splice the two leads together and the computer will be appeased. The problem is how to reset things...

BonzoHansen 04-06-2009 07:30 PM

Put your car back together correctly so people don't think your car is a POS. .
