riddles
ok one riddle at a time. first person to solve can post up a new one after the original poster of the riddle verifies the answer being correct. no cheating!!!:-x:-x thats lame!:-P
There are 3 light switches on a wall each hooked up to a separate light on the other side of the wall. You can only go around the wall once. You can operate the light switches as much as you like. You must figure out which light switch controls each bulb. gogoGO:) |
Took me a little while to visualize what you were describing, but I think I've got it.
You flip two light switches, wait a couple minutes, then turn one of those switches back off. You then go to the opposite side of the wall. The switch that was still in the "on" position controls the bulb that is currently illuminated. The switch that was recently on, and now "off" controls the bulb that is currently OFF and WARM to the touch. The switch that was always in the "off" position controls the bulb that is currently OFF and COLD to the touch. Win? |
i was really confused by this riddle, being an electrician even. i wont answer it because i cheated but it does make sense

i guess we over-analyzed it |
i would call it oversimplification, they make these really sweet wire tracers that allow you to trace wires in the wall...from outside the wall....
or just have a buddy stand at the switches and you go around the wall... |

Riddle:
We are little brethren twain, Arbiters of loss or gain; Many to our counters run, Some are made, and some undone: But men find it to their cost, Few are made, but numbers lost: Though we play them tricks forever, Yet they always hope to win our favor. What are we? Good luck... |

Four people sat down at a table to play;
They play'd all that night, and some part of the next day; This one thing observ'd, that when they were seated, Nobody played with them, and nobody betted; Yet when they got up, each was a winner a guinea; Who tells me this riddle, I'm sure is no ninny. |
