Any good alternatives....
To an iphone without being a fan boi?
I don't care what network. |
BB bold? Or do you NEED a touch screen?
|
Samsung Omnia? my friend shane has it, its quite interesting...has windows mobile on it. ill tell him to post here
|
My BB Curve is awesome.
|
The Omnia is pretty good so far(i havent used all of its features yet) but i think there are better phones out there
|
I have an iPhone, it is really a great phone, but if you want other suggestions everyone who has the BB Storm seems to really like it, and the google phone on t-mobile looks really cool, but I don't like t-mobiles service.

I have a htc touch pro. Has a touch screen, 3.2mp camera, flip out keyboard. And Sprint service has been pretty good for me, and you can't beat their package prices. I get GPS, internet, and the normal cell service for pretty cheap.

I think I would enjoy something with a touch screen..

I had to think long and hard about going to ATT for the iPhone over the BBStorm.
The Storm's biggest problem is that its a bit laggy, and I think its more due to Verizon then RIM's fault. There have been several Beta updates that have improved certain parts of the phone, but nothing has brought it all together so far. But othewise, the Storm is very easy to use, its pretty fast, and is on Verizon's network. The Storm is the closest to the iPhone out there. I looked into the Omnia, the Dare, and other touch screens sold through Verizon, none had the feel and look that the Storm or iPhone do. iPhone 3.0 should fix a lot of the problems I had when I was looking for phones. But then again, Storm 2 rumors are heating up, adding faster browsers, better software, 5mp camear, and some other really killer features. I guess Ill have to smash my Storm against a rock. Good think I picked up the insurance. Its time to pay up Verizon!! |

Hrm..Ill have to look into that. I just uploaded the BB App store, and have added quite a collection to the phone so far. Trappster app would be a good idea for you, since you drive from PA to North Jersey.

G1 - I currently have this phone. I love it, and have nothing wrong with it, nothing a couple of the apps havent fixed, however I am really waiting for the "cupcake" update. once t-mobile's 3g coverage is finished this summer, i think it will be a great contender to the iPhone. i don't know your timeframe, but i'd say maybe wait until the "g2" comes out and see which one you like, its a little more sleek than the g1 and it has some updates that i think is needed (onscreen keyboard, which the g1 doesnt need, but would be nice, stereo bluetooth) i would say keep your eyes out for android phones, its a great mobile OS Storm - I dunno, it was slow, i didnt like the whole screen click thing, didnt like the interface as much as i liked the Bold's. Bold - I liked this one alot, slick, easy to use, no cons that i could find. (maybe except missing a touch screen) Curve - not as slick as the bold, but nothing really i have against it, not as nice as the g1 or iphone i would say your biggest contenders should be the iPhone vs G1 or G2 (whenever it comes out) or some other Android phones. I like android, mostly because of its open source-ness |
thanks everyone, this is all great input.

Agreed, you cant feel texting. But I like the clicking of teh screen. Therfor you arent just sputtering letters out as your finger runs across the phone. You get a nice feel and sound to tell you that you clicked the right one, and the auto-spell check is very good.

my bro has the google phone. I like it alot better then the iphone but its expensive
|
Girl at work had teh google phone...she didnt like it at all. She went back to her sidekick within teh week.
The Bold is the standard Blackberry version of teh Storm. |
Whenever I hear about the Iphone, I think of this
http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=iphone it does bring up some pretty good points about the Iphone |
