June Car of the Month Submissions

Anyone can post one picture of only their Camaro or Firebird in this thread.

Please include your name and a short paragraph describing the mods done to the car and/or a short story about the car as well.

If this is not posted in this thread by the time voting begins, your car will not be included in the vote.

At the last week of the month we will post a poll that will last for one week and the winner will get to spend the following month showcased on the home page of the site. Past winners will not be eligible to win again for 12 months.

All submitted pictures should be a minimum size of 640 x 480, as this is the size of the image that will be posted on the home page. If you aren't sure of the size, post it up the largest image you have (within reason).

If you have submitted a car in the past, but were not selected as a winner, feel free to submit another pic. You can continue to enter each month until you win.

Please limit this thread to posts submitting pictures only. Comments and other chit-chat will be removed.

GET THOSE SUBMISSIONS IN!!!

Ok, I'll give it a whirl. Props to Alex Q for the fine photo and Rich @ Jersey Devil for making it look presentable.

The car is a 1977 Z28. Often referred to as the 1977 1/2 by the self-important crowd. It's a 350/4bbl car, came factory as a 4-speed. It was an orange color from the factory but a previous owner decided red is better. At least he put brand new GM full quarters in it. Today those are worth more than this paint job cost in 1992.

Let see, mods...um, well it now has a T56 transmission in it. Some suspension upgrades including full Hotchkiss TVS setup, WS6 3rd gen steering box, adjustable SPC upper control arms, rebuilt LCAs with Global West Del-A-Lum bushings, some other stuff. The suspension won't really be finished until I buy wheels & tires and do bigger brakes. Oh, brakes, yeah, it has now has 12" rotors - 3rd gen 1LE parts - stock is 11". 4th gen leather seats, 3rd gen serp setup, 4th gen cooling fans with a DCC control unit, blah blah blah, you get the picture. I drive it as much as I can. Rock chips are a daily event.

1974 Camaro sport coupe the last of the small rear window second gen's. After years of being f-bodyless I purchased this car from the orignal owner in March. As of right now the car is completly original (with the exception of a crappy repaint) it has the numbers matching 350/2bbrl and th350 transmission and has 77k original miles. Future mods are edelbrock aluminum heads, air gap intake, holly carb, headers and dual exhaust. Eventually I would like to do and lsx/t56 swap and make this car into a protouring monster, but right now being a poor college student it just isnt feasable, and I really enjoy driving it like it is for now.

The car is a 1986 Pontiac Trans Am. Came from the factory with the 305ci/4bbl engine and 700r4 trans. It has a grey interior and is painted the original red with striping on the 4" cowl hood and across the tail. The car was stripped and repainted in 2004 and begun its transformation.

It's now powered by a 408ci stroker motor built by T&L engine development in NC, a Tremec tko600 5 speed trans, and a Moser 9" rear. The car rides on coil-overs front and rear, Hotchkis sway bars, and suspension components from UMI, Spohn and Alston racing. Wheels by Centerline, 18x8 front and 18x12 rear on BFG rubber. And its all stopped by 13" C5 z06 brakes in the front and 12" 4th gen camaro rear disc brakes.

It has 3rd gen leather seats, a custom widened rear interior to accommodate the mini-tub. I drive the car whenever i can, usually when its not in pieces in the garage. Plenty more mods than i can list. Oh, and did i mention its fast?

1999 Pontiac Trans Am

This is my 99 Trans Am. She's bright silver metallic with black accents. Modified with QTP stainless headers, 3'' Pacesetter Y, Hooker Aero-Chamber Catback, Pro 5.0, Lou's Short Stick, Ls7 clutch, 3'' steel driveshaft and a 9'' moser rear. She wears a set of American Racing TTM's and sports 315's in the back. With a brand new leather interior she's close to her quest of having both show and some go.

Car: 1998 Trans Am

I bought the car almost a year ago up in north jersey. When I bought the car it had kooks longtube header, highflow cats, and a magnaflow catback. It also had a 3600 Vig, tune and a moser rear with 373s. Since I have owned the car i added the a Stock ws6 ram air hood and a set of MT Drag Radials. I also recently put C6 Z06 wheels to cruise around on. The best I have done at atco is a 12.378 @ 110.5. Hopefully come this season I can run 12.0 or maybe even 11s.

1995 Camaro

Had the car for about three years now, and finally got it to the track to run an awesome 14 sec 1/4 mile. Basic bolt ons so far, hopefully heading back to the track soon so I can replace this pic with a cool burnout pic. ;)

1994 Camaro Z28

This is my pride and joy. I bought it when I was a freshmen in high school and I am now a senior. It is my first car, the car I learned to drive on. It has some simple modifications: Magnaflow echaust, SLP fan control switch, TB airfoil, American Racing TT's, etc. I recently hit 100,000 miles.
