I dont remember watching any of this back in the day anyone know if they still do this? |
AS is a big class still. This year a guy had a huge off at the run offs and impacted the wall broadside in a thirdgen. Hit so hard the hatch glass exploded.

hehe thats awesome... 2001 and no 4th gens racing? should be 3rd gens vs fox bodies!

they guy "thomas oates" they talked about inthe beginning was my old boss in 2004-2005 he didnt have any camaro race cars then but rather two covette z06 race cars... one was a full blown race car and the other was a stock class with just a cage and some suspension work... he was kind a jerk though typical rich a-hole... btw he owns a dealership i was a detailer... if you watch scca racing his cars are always in a tiger stripe theme... as much of a jerk as he was he was a decent racer.... but why no 4th gens???

4th gens suck at the handling mod.
That white third gen needed some more power to get around that Mustang...only wateched about 2mins of it. |
to answer your question, yeah they still do this. I believe in SCCA they have American Iron with different classes as far as modding, and Extreme American Iron, which is no limit on the mods. Someone correct me if i'm wrong?

Here's a link to the Northeast Division schedule.
http://www.scca.com/events.aspx?hub=10 It falls under club racing/regional and the class AS will run this weekend at Pocono, Group 5, they will run with GT1, GT2, GT3 etc....and in early they run at at NJMP hosted by the SJR SCCA. http://www.scca-nnjr.org/NNJR_Race/2...-562_563-P.pdf I think AI and AIX are both classes that run under NASA not the SCCA. http://www.nasaproracing.com/racing/ Last year I did a track day at NJMP hosted by NNJR SCCA and American Sedan was running that same day. My instructor was the driver of the white/blue 3rd Gen #68. Here's a link to some pics (not the best quality, but you get the idea). http://www.flickr.com/photos/1qwikbi...7606951818560/ Chris |
