WTB\WTT My powerful hood struts for your used, weak ones

Dunno if LT1 & LS1 hood struts are the same, but I need a set of used, weak hood struts. And I'm willing to trade my fairly new and powerful ones for a used weak set. Reasons... current struts are too powerful to close my 20 pound fiberglass sunoco hood  ... The weaker, the better. Name a price if your willing to just sell.

don't they usually just use one?

could just drill a hole in them to just act as quides. Even with the weakest struts, I wasn't willing to take the chance with my fiberglass hood cracking the paint down the road due to bending.

Yea after more and more research, struts do tend to cause stress on fiberglass hoods, especially VFN hoods which is what I have. Ill pop those suckers off tomorrow and use a hood prop until I find a set designed for fiberglass hoods.

I tried the one strut trick, and it bends the hell out of the hood.

My hood struts gave out, plus they don't get the hood up high enough to work reasonably comfortable. I left them off and designed a pair that hold the hood up vertically. I now have a ton of clearance when working on car. The only down side is I have to carry them in the back of the car until I need them. I will take some picks and post them here if you like. I should see if the metal guy that built them can make more.
