help with front spring swap

Hey guys,

Would anyone be able to help me do a front spring swap on my firebird? I don't really have the proper tools and would really appreciate the help. I got cash and beer :) Thanks guys

You could borrow the spring compressor from Autozone for free.

yea that's what I did for the rears. however the fronts are much harder and I don't have the experience with them. I also don't have a torque gun which is almost essential for getting those fronts out.

You had to use a spring compressor for the rears? They should come right out by hand if you have the car on jack stands and let the rear droop all the way down.

i only had one jack so i had to put it under the pumpkin, therefore i need the compressors to get the new ones back in

but i would really appreciate it if someone would give me a hand with these suckers. as stated, i would pay and provide some brewski's (your choice )...does anyone also know where i would be able to get an alignment done thats close to here. most shops wont touch lowered cars.

send hardcorez28, Paul, at RPM as message, he is a sponsor here, and in hillsborough maybe you can work something out with him.

Or, i have the tools to do it, though i have never done the job on a 4th gen, just my car, 3rd gen. Im in Ringoes, not far form hillsborough, Im sure we could figure it out.

and there is a shop right across the street from my house that does alignments. They did my car, did a great job and they are a good bunch of guys/gals.

I can help you out. I've done this on a friends car once, and am going to be doing it on mine either this week or next.

Its a semi easy job, I did it a couple of months ago on my Formula, I would be happy to help but you are really far.

(I am pretty sure I used my breaker bar to get the right tension rather than my impact but I could be wrong.)
