idk...I think the 5th gen looks ****ing awesome in that color8-). Might have to do with the fact that I'm young and was brought up around 4th gens.

LS1ow 06-08-2009 04:06 PM

thats acually a really nice 2nd... and i ushally hate 2nds

transmaro93 06-08-2009 04:34 PM

wow... nice find... thats crazy,.... 2nd gens arent small cars either... i still like the 5th gen... but when you put it next to a nice condition 2nd gen like that.... its no contest 2nd gen FTW everytime....

UserName 06-08-2009 04:50 PM

for a car the 5th gen is good . but it sould not have the name camaro with such simple lines

Knipps 06-08-2009 06:26 PM

The Camaro is big. We get it. Now go look up all the mandatory safety improvments since 1970.

BigAls87Z28 06-08-2009 07:00 PM

Ahhhhh....2nd gen is smaller then 5th gen by about 2 inches.
And this one is lowerd. a lot.
this is just as bad as the dropped 4th gen next to the 5th gen.
2nd gens are pretty low from the factory, about 50 inches tall.
Not to mention the 2nd gens svelt body lines, and its going to look smaller even stock vs a 5th gen due to its oversized design elements.
Both cars do look great though..mmm

NastyEllEssWon 06-08-2009 07:23 PM

you can call a pile of craps a block of cheese....doesnt make it taste any better though

DaSkinnyGuy 06-08-2009 08:32 PM

obviously. If it wasn't for the strict federal safety requirements GM would not have made the 5th gen ~3900 lbs.

umm yeah, i know it makes them heavier, but it does NOT make them grow. solstice is not a tank, miata has not grown since it came out, vette is still small, most porches are the same size they have been for years.

the stuff in the car gets heavier, but that doesn't mean the car gets bigger

ahh...you didn't specify what was growing. In reality, people are growing(getting fatter), so a car with more room would probably be more appealing to a wider range of people.

sweetbmxrider 06-09-2009 07:39 PM

actually a heavier car would have to have larger crumple zones. more mass at speed needs more distance to stop/release force

true. the "creature comforts" that add to the weight, will require more safety equipment which will add to the weight

sweetbmxrider 06-09-2009 08:30 PM

yes, truly a catch22

Mike 06-09-2009 09:15 PM

wow.......we agree to agree

Ahem...
For the 5000th ****ing time
The Camaro is SMALLER then the outgoing 4th gen, and is a much safter and stronger car. Its additional 300lbs from a 2002 SS to a 2010 SS comes from stiffer chassis, 20 inch wheels, brakes 2x the size, 4 more air bags, and IRS system.
