car rental?

well im looking online but only found 1 so far. anyone know of any car rental companys in central or south jersey that would rent to a 22 year old? need to find a rental so i can drive to sc at the end of the month because the camaro probably isnt going to be finished before the 30th.

BigAls87Z28 06-08-2009 08:34 PM

emolineaux 06-08-2009 08:44 PM

so far i found on enterprises website they offer a limited style of cars from compact to full size cars for ages 21 -24 but have an aditional $90 underage charge lol. probably the best bet for me as of right now

sweetbmxrider 06-08-2009 08:49 PM

Expect that everywhere. I think its like $15.00 per day surcharge between 21 and 25. Sometimes you'll get lucky and find an enterprise that doesn't know what they're doing and not charge you the underage fee. ( I know from experience I rent 4-5 a year a cargo van for work)

idk if im going to chance driving that thing that far lol. it runs good but i dont think it would make it there and back.

im going to stop at enterprise on the way home today and see what they say and see what my car options are.

You should chance it. If it breaks its just another adventure for you, and a story you can tell. I would probably trust the bronco over some rental cars since they truly get the snot beat of them. I'll bet it would surprise you and run flawlessly for your trip. I'm sure theres others around that take longer trips in crappier cars.

You'd have plenty of room for luggage...nice comfortable seats...my vote is for the bronco. Make sure you've got the "junkyard" tool set with you, and extra of any fluids that it leaks, just in case.

yeah ford trucks can be pretty solid. Take her on down!

bobb1589 06-09-2009 06:41 PM

well i think you might be able to get away without it... my friend who just turned 20 was able to rent a moving truck... so i think you might be able to get away with it

it is a good running truck but with 177k on it im just not sure. i dont want to have the fuel pump or something to crap out on me when im driving down.

i could do a tuneup and change all the fluids/filters.

sweetbmxrider 06-09-2009 07:26 PM

make sure that intake isn't leaking, its just like the lt1's. other than that, just cruise. they are good trucks when cared for

emolineaux 06-09-2009 07:30 PM

well the engine in the truck was rebuilt. i forget how many miles are on it i wanna say probably around 15k on the rebuilt motor.

she is ideling a little high. idk if i have a leak or not. i havent got a chance to look into it yet.

sweetbmxrider 06-09-2009 07:36 PM

whats the idle?

emolineaux 06-09-2009 07:38 PM

its like 1500 rpm in park and just under 1000 rpm in gear.

and other than that its good. all guages run right in the middle of the normal mark. just has a noise like one of the front pulley bearings is going bad.

sweetbmxrider 06-09-2009 07:43 PM

hmmm that is high somewhat. i'd check the timing on it for ****s

emolineaux 06-09-2009 07:45 PM

well it wasnt always high like that idk if there is a hole in one of the lines or not. hopefully it will be nice out after work one day this week so i can check it all out and do my oil change.

emolineaux 06-09-2009 08:22 PM

sorry just looked at the records rebuilt bottom end has 10k on it

qwikz28 06-09-2009 08:38 PM

whoa. I rented a car from Avis and I was 22 at the time. Cost me 200 to rent a 2009 Malibu one-way from VA-North Jersey overnight for ~24 hours. just throwing that out there. Its actually cheaper if you return it at the same location

BigAls87Z28 06-09-2009 09:26 PM

Avis has Camaros now too....
