Finally here!

I already had the 700R4 out as well as the center console and the manual pedal assembly and clutch hydraulics all set. Now I can set up my clutch/PP/Bellhousing, drill the hole for the shifter, and throw it all in and back together. Can't friggin wait!

Got an awesome deal from a guy over on LS1tech who has a performance shop in TN. 41k miles, 30-day warranty, and he got me some odds and ends I still needed for the swap. Great guy to deal with.

Same driveshaft, in fact I picked up an aluminum one a few months ago I'll finally get to throw in. Spohn, Skulte, and a couple of others make a crossmember for thirdgens using a T56 but Skulte is the only one who makes one for use with Hooker Super Comp LT headers as well, so I had to go with that one. It's an awesome design, the crossmember tucks up into the trans tunnel so the exhaust can run underneath it.

Reverse and brake lights will have to get rewired, no big deal though.

sweetbmxrider 06-10-2009 08:23 PM

ah very nice

T5 wouldn't work with the 350, I made just under 300 rwtq through the automatic.

Why brake lights?

Pigtails for reverse light, reverse lockout, vss.: http://www.eficonnection.com/eficonn..._pigtails.aspx

Teds89IROC 06-10-2009 11:47 PM

Awesome website, thanks! I didn't really examine the connectors for the brake lights but briefly looking at them they look different.

What does the VSS do? Or is that what sends the signal for the electrical speedometer? Mine is mechanical and I saw converters go for a few hundred bucks, best option is probably just upgrade to an electrical speedometer along with the other gauges.

Ian 06-11-2009 05:35 AM

there is a company that makes a box that drives a speedometer cable off an electronic signal from the VSS. I forget the name of the company though.

NastyEllEssWon 06-11-2009 05:48 AM

yeah the vss is an electronic signal for the speedo. cable x makes a kit. its like 300 for a module. autometer makes one too

Update:

Just have to bleed the slave cylinder, mount the resevoir to the firewall, drive shaft and Y-pipe, fill the trans with fluid...then it's drivable. Then I have to do the wiring and make the hole for the shifter pretty and put the console back together, I plan on driving it tomorrow 8-)

GP99GT 06-12-2009 06:08 PM

if i upgrade, itll be to a Gforce T5 probably...right now its a T5-Z spec

before the install we got some "overnight parts from JAPAN"

NastyEllEssWon 06-12-2009 07:17 PM

looks more like detroit lol

Teds89IROC 06-13-2009 09:05 PM

Well, IT WORKS! I still have to wire up the "N" safety and everything else, waiting on those pigtails, but I had the rear in the air and tried all the gears and everything is awesome!
