Lesson learned the hard way...
Been told this a hundred times and have told people it myself....never cut anything towards you! Working late last night I made a poor decision when cutting something with a razorblade and sliced my hand. Was in the ER until 2am getting it stitched up. I even told myself when I was doing it that I should find a better way to cut it.
Let my momentary lapse of judgement serve as a reminder to everyone else....always cut away from you! |
sucks, how many stitches? i never seem to learn but never had to get stitched up. i am the worse with a cut-off wheel, never wear safety glasses. its really dumb. my dad went to the eye doctor and they found metal in there that was years old. learn through example
|
Still notice i do it myself...Im usually just real careful...so far so good...sorry to hear about that.
|
Only 3.....enough to be annoying and limit the work I can do this weekend. I need to paint a set of bumpers tonight but try not to get any solvents in it when I'm cleaning the gun out.
|
Awesome!
I thought I was the only guy who made that mistake! Was your finger dangling off ? ;) Sucks man, at least you didn't damage the muscle... |
wow that sucks i did it when i worked at a body shop and i went down into the paint room to clean my gun like normal and got thinner in the cut HOLY **** THAT BURNS be careful with the cleaner lol
|
Yeah I've gotten thinner in small cuts before and it sucks....I'll just have to use my other hand to wipe out the inside of the gun tonight.
Best part was the doctor asked how it happend and I said I cut myself with a razor and she looked at my very concerned....so I followed up my statement with "Yeah, I'm a cutter" hahaha....she didn't appreciate it. |
hahaha awesome
|
that sux! i do the same thing though, you try to be more careful but crap happens. i've had some close calls that made me say what was i thinking!!
atleast you still have your finger man. be careful |
That sucks man, sorry to hear about the trip to the ER...hope it heals quickly.
|
Already made the appointment to have them removed next friday....although I may just do it myself.

Hope you're hand heal fast and without consequences.
I had six stitches in my left palm. I used clippers to cut the stitches and then you just pull them out. (clippers was cleaned with vodka before) |
yah we have to learn the hard way. last thanksgiving I was cutting the turkey and being that I was starving I rushed and cut towards me reallly fast and i cut the tip of my thumb off and ruined the turkey for the entire family ....FAIL

Guys do stupid thinks becasue they want to even if the decision is a nanosecond. Girls just do stupid thinks no thought process and no realizlation that they did it.......there are exceptions to this rule

just be careful in the future. |
If it was at work(you said you were working late, just not sure what exactly you meant), let someone else take the stitches out. It will be legit, workers comp will cover it, and if anything goes wrong down the road or anything of the sort they can't blame you for not following procedure and such. I almost made a big mistake by thinking of taking my stitches out myself when i got my hand caught in a lathe at work. Now that I might need physical therapy, they wont find any excuses not to pay for it.
