TRAN COOLER?
ok I have a 92 v6 3.1(hoping to turbo one day) connected to a 700r4.
I had the trans rebuilt for 1800:mad: a week a go, it was slipping and falling in and out of gear. Now the AAMCO tech who did it said i should invest in a 2nd trans cool aside form the one in the Radiator so i can prolong the life of my investment. AAMCO wanted 400+150 labor to add one lol  now i did alot of asking and searching now a transmission colder is good to prolong the life of the trans but if the fluid it cooled to much it can do the same damage as being to hot, it takes stress off the radiator form cooling the engine and trans. other benefits vary: smoother shifts, better MPG, bahbah now i sometimes sit in traffic -.- going to work for 1-2 hours and i push my car hard so would it be a good idea to add a cooler heres one im looking at http://www.autoanything.com/coolers/65A3049A0A0.aspx or http://www.autoanything.com/coolers/65A3050A0A0.aspx |
you would actually do away with the one from the radiator and just use an aftermarket and yes ill be hooking one up to my stock trans just to prolong the life. and im not even that hard on this car

well the way i was told so you can keep it on and not worry about overcooling is
Trans------->aftermarket cooler drops temp to 175F or lower ------>then to the radiator that brings it to 180-190f---->then to the trans again this so i can keep it all year round so what you think? |

Not sure js installed mine but he placed it right near the radiator. Also his labor rate was alot lower then what you were quoted..I got the $60 hayden piece from Advanced. Josh said the kit was an easy install.

the kit Aamco wanted to use you have to bend a new pair of tarns lines not like the one with the high heat hoses and and mmmm a T fitting that sound better then what im thinking of
