has anyone ever tried this stuff on faded black plastic trim? my impala molding trim is almost gray in color now:evil:

Yes, it does work. The stuff is like thick syrup and really clings to whatever you put it on and really lasts quite awhile, not like ArmorAll which washes off after the first rain or washing. Keep on reapplying it and the molding will start to look better and last a lot longer if you do. It's also good on any rubber outside moldings to keep them from dry rotting.

I've used the stuff and it worked well just as its advertised. My dad used to use it on his old Jag trim and it came out great.

Personally i like a product called poorboys trim restorer lexol makes a good product too called vinylex ... tried back to black a long long time ago and didnt like it much.

*edit* ive also heard great things about a product called black wow for really faded or damaged trim... but for the most part the cars i work on arent that bad so ive yet to use it

Bill, what you could also do is pick up some trim black spray paint at any auto body supply place and respray the moldings.

that would work great depending how bad they are.... also if u want back to black i saw 2 brand new bottles sitting in my garage when i was cleaning. dont know where it came from but you can have it

i rock stoner trimshine. im not a huge fan of the greasy glossy look, so i just use a light coat, and usually only when there is bird doo or old wax in my trim

I used it on my faded bumpers on the caprice...it came out pretty good. I applied it 2-3 times and it looked good. Too bad I havent washed the car in over a year.

alright you probally wont believe this but... i searched the net and came across a thread where this guys said that he used peanut butter thats right peanut butter! in his post he explains how the peanut oil helps bring back the color so i said BS but i tried it in a small area on the side molding and half way around the back of the car. well 1 week later the area i did is still black as new even after the rain we had. i did'nt think it would work at all but hey it did. i still don't believe it worked:nod:

I bet enough PB to do the job will cost more than the B2B.

Hey, maybe you can use that B2B like grecian formula, get that youthful hair back. :p

Yea, PB works on it. Jeep guys buy the cheap store brand PB to use on big old plastic flares.

instead of PB, couldn't you just go buy peanut oil?

i was thinking the same thing melissa. but i got 2 jars of PB laying around so i'll finish one of them up first. i still don't believe it worked and lasted though the rain and heat we been having.
