Odd. I've seen ONE SS but a ton of V6's.

Chevrolet managed to sell 9,320 examples of the Camaro last month, compared to 7,362 June sales for the 2010 Ford Mustang. The last time the Camaro outsold the Mustang in a single month was October 1993, according to Automotive News. The Camaro was all-new for 1993 while the Mustang was awaiting its 1994 redesign.

It remains to be seen if the Camaro will be able to hang on for the full-year sales title, an honor the Camaro hasn’t taken home since 1985.

Only 14,227 off their previous sales record!

okay, 2nd time in 16 years

Frosty 08-03-2009 05:34 PM

Hey, the public is finally starting to realize the superior product since '93

BigAls87Z28 08-03-2009 05:41 PM

Awesome news...very awesome.
The one advantage the Mustang ever held was price, and after looking on several Ford lots, that advantage is gone.

Mike 08-03-2009 07:07 PM

maybe its because everyone that has wanted a mustang since 2002 has bought one.......and everyone that has wanted a camaro since 2002 has been waiting and now ran out and bought them in the last 2 months......sales will level out.

once the orders are filled... they are the ones who control how many orders per month are being filled, and i think that delivery of the vehicle is what constitutes a sale. in the meantime, the dealer lots are going to be flooded with v6 models, which are a lower price point than the SSes. sales will continue to climb until the end of the year, i predict. after that, most (if not all) of the orders made from March will be filled and the dealers should get their allotment. then it will be a level playing field.

Frosty 08-04-2009 12:22 PM

I think the sales will stay steady, especially if/when dealers stop jacking up the price.

sweetbmxrider 08-04-2009 01:03 PM

i've been noticing more 5th gens, but i definitely see more stallions prancing around :|

Squirrel 08-05-2009 12:36 AM

for 15 years and 7 months straight the mustang outsold it, its almost like for a while there it didnt even have any competition... da-ding kacha

Knipps 08-05-2009 09:52 AM

I've barely seen any 5th gens on the road lately, on the other hand I've seen quite a few '10 Mustangs and Challengers

BigAls87Z28 08-05-2009 05:48 PM

Ive seen more Challengers then either Mustang or Camaro, but Challenger does have a 2 MY run on the Mustang and Camaro.

Frosty 08-06-2009 05:37 AM

There are quite a bit of Camaros around here...and an assload of Mustangs. Not many Challengers though.

NJ346 08-06-2009 11:09 AM

I have to laugh at ford right now. I just saw an online ad that was boasting the 10 Mustang's l.e.d. turn signals...they're really desperate to sell them lol
