sweet... what parts did you end up going with... heads/cam, rotating assembly.. pistons?... im also in the process of rebuilding my car... im not building my motor though.. a machine shop is because i have no idea what im doing hahah

z28rob18 08-14-2009 06:32 AM

its a eagle forged crank, eagle H beam rods, diamond .040 pistons, total seal gapless rings, cam was custom ground specced out by tea i dont totally remember specs now. some expensive ass splayed caps all arp hardware, clevite H series bearings. pushrods r trickflow 7.250" chromoly, rocker 1.6 harland sharps, lifters are gm hydrolic was told there the ones to use. the crank and rods were in a block that had 500 miles on it we had the shop magnaflux and check both of them. i cant think of anything else. should be a pretty strong motor.

Looks like a solid effort. Good luck with your goals. :burnout:

transmaro93 08-15-2009 08:42 AM

sweet... so i guess you went with tea heads...? stock castings or trick flows... im doin the tea trickflows on my setup... sounds like a stout engine man good luck!

z28rob18 08-15-2009 10:39 AM

yeah tea trickflows

doesnt look like it. i leave for school we got behind on a few things ppl not helpin on time when they said they would. if i do it'll probably be NA passes and might be in NC where ill be for school

Def looks really nice, best of luck with it. I was just wondering what your piston to wall clearance spec was with those pistions because it looks like a tight fit. Also have to allow for more heat expansion if they are hyper or forged. Just curious.

z28rob18 08-23-2009 07:57 AM

im not sure of the piston/wall clearance i can tell you that they bored the block .041 over and the pistons are for a .040 block. the rings were gapped for a big shot of n2o so they have plenty of gap for wen it heats up.
