DANA 44 question

i have a dana 44 front diff for a ford bronco. im trying to figure out what gear ratio it is. i pulled some numbers off the ring gear. can anyone help me figure out what gears i have in this thing.

this is off the pinion gear

1392 DANA D 33844 PRL397 46 13 573(the 573 is punched in a little bigger size and upside down compaired to the other numbers)

3.53 maybe?

emolineaux 09-09-2009 06:36 PM

my 92 bronco came stock with 3.55 gears. this is out of a 92 also but the rear diff was swapped to a ford 9 inch. which i picked up for my truck. so im just trying to see if i have to swap both rears or just change out the 8.8 for the new 9 inch.

46 ring teeth, 13 pinion?

i have not counted the teeth yet. figured i would try the stamped numbers first. ill have to count the teeth tomorrow when i have more light and free time.

Should be 46 / 13, which means 3.53xxx, so 3.55s
