Merging onto a NJ Highway

We all know NJ roads can be a bit dicey at times so sometimes I like to take charge and get up to speed. I was being tailgated as well which I did not appreciate.

Nitrous was armed but the wideband is reading "RCH", so it's off the charts rich. I need to mess with the jets.

That has to be RT 287. I think the worst merges in NJ are on that road.

Cool vid.

yeah looks like 287 coming off easton ave?

NastyEllEssWon 09-21-2009 09:58 AM

What does your car run in the 1/4 on and off of spray? Sound healthy

Best NA full weight with no weight reduction on street tires was a 12.4@ 114. On nitrous 12.1@ 119. Both on a ~2.0 60'.

The car is running way too rich on the juice so I'll have to re-jet obviously. It has a really strong midrange when the nitrous hits but I can literally feel the acceleration trail towards the top end. Now that I have the new rear and will have the nitrous running properly, it should run decently. It's certainly not optimized for the drag strip but its a fun street car. Looking for a mid-11 pass the way it sits in Oct.

Nice pull. :)

How the hell do you drive in sandals! i always get caught between the clutch and the brake when I do.

gotmudnj 09-21-2009 04:18 PM

im always coming from where 440 ends and 287 begins with the traffic and construction. my low rider would get damaged when i drove on that around exit one on 287 with the bumps...after construction and down by exit 4 on is a good smooth ride.

Iroc-z86 09-21-2009 04:23 PM

very nice :)

glad im not the only one who races up on ramps lol

I don't do it often but I've never had a problem either. I need to drive the car more as I'm not happy with my shifting speed...sandals didn't help ;)

You guys are hilarious with the CSI style google maps.

you haven't seen 295 south of vorhees to rt. 168. All torn up now, there are NO merges. Stop signs with no acceleration lane.
