New Chat System - Beta Testers Needed

Hey all. Five years ago I developed a new chat system that wasn't aimed to compete with AIM, but is similiar. Lately I started working on the project again. Not to compete with Yahoo!, AIM, MSN, etc.., but more to complete a challenge.
This is a stand-alone chat system, not compatible with AIM or any other messenger just yet.

Fireball Instant Messenger

Current Feature List:
* IMs - Tabbed!
* Chats, both public and private with a password
* IRC - style chat system
* File transfers - All kinds of documents with drag and drop file transfer
* White board
* Buddy icons
* IM and Chat rate limiting
* Graphical buddy smiles
* Direct connect for image sharing
* Buddy list, with ability to block or go invisible
* Buddy profiles
* Away messages
* Desktop sharing with remote assistance
* File sharing and downloading - search for files that other users are sharing
* IM and Chat logging with log manager
* Plugins - you can download plugins to customize your client
* MOTD - lets you see server messages upon login to keep you informed of announcements
* Updater - lets you check for updates and you can stay upated with the newest client and updater
* Voice and Video Chatting available with plugin
* Flash-based games coming soon
* Skins - you can customize the way your client looks
* & more !

More features are coming. This software is still in beta stage. I'm looking for people to help test features, contribute ideas, if anyone's good with graphics the software is skinnable, etc..

Some Tech Info:
> This software uses a home-built protocol based off the TCP/IP stack. It has certain features that make it unique compared to other services, which include capability to handle up to 64 parameters while keeping the packet size relatively small.

> The Main GUI is written in Visual Basic 6.0. The 32-bit and 64-bit supporting DLLs for features are written in Delphi and are cross-platform, meaing they can be loaded on a *nix system, eliminating the need to recode them into c.

>The updater is a pretty neat feature, as it keeps your software up to date, making sure your personal experience is the best.

> The plugin / module system will let features be added or removed from the software without interrupting basic functionality. I will create a small SDK for these features, so you can write your own plugins to personalize your client.

Compatibility:
- Windows XP / Vista 32 or 64-bit / Windows 7 64-bit
- Linux (kernel 2.6.28.10 or newer), Gnome or KDE , with wine installed
- Mac (Leopard , Snow Leopard) - Using wine from mac-ports, VMWare, or using Parallells

my IM on Fireball is erockthegeek - if you join, shoot me an IM or add me to your buddylist.
My AIM is WhiteTA4u2NV - if u wanna shoot me an AIM IM.

Now, since this is sitll in beta stage there might still be some issues, but I will fix them as quickly as I can. If you have any ideas, let me know. I've added almost 4 more features in the past 24 hrs because people gave me ideas and compliments.

If you have any programming experience with Visual Basic, Delphi, or C/C++, let me know, as I'm developing the plugins that will add additional functionality, which includes the audio/video chat, desktop sharing, and VLAN capability.

Are the "IM's" encrypted or sent as plain text? I know regular AIM sends it as plain text so you can read IMs using a packet sniffer. Don't allow that.

You have that options, to have IMs sent normally or encrypted. Encryption utilizes different types:

rijndael, serpent, blowfish, des, triple des, twofish, gost, rc4, skipjack, tea, ms crypto api (utilizes md5), ds2, simple xor

Cool ! The 64-bit dll was actually compiled on my 64-bit vista. Has both the 32-bit and 64-bit dlls, auto selected at installation.
