window motor spring

so a few months ago i had a new driverside window motor installed on the TA. about a month later i found a big coil spring clankin around inside the door, pulled the panel and took it out clueless to wat it was and the window and door operated just fine... well now a few more months later the window seems to be going up to far and no longer sealing to the B pillar weather stripping. popped off both door panels for comparison today and the spring is nice and tight on the passenger side and i cant get the driverside to keep enough tension for it to not pop off wen slamming the door shut... any ideas???
