I wanna start spinning.. (serious thread)
 
I have a laptop, monitors, and a receiver.. I dont wanna do vinyl and im not gonna be a professional DJ, what do i need and how much will i be spending to be able to pickup a mixer, some tables, and whatever else is needed?

i think it really depends on how heavily you get into it. radioshack actually has some stuff in the store that you can check out.

There're also people who do straight laptop mixes, this probably isn't the best place to be asking for help :lol:

Yea, I have seen it done easily with a single laptop and a USB turntable.

I used to supply music for dorm parties back in college - nothing fancy, just dual instances of WinAMP, set to crossfade in and out of each song, and you can bounce from one instance to another to accommodate immediate requests.

ive been checking out this site my friend showed me. its based towards techno/trance/house kinda music, but pretty much all the same principles apply. from what ive been reading, a good setup to start is some pioneer cdjs and like a mixer of some kind. i wanna start doing the same thing as you
