Buzzing the Canyon

The Grand Canyon that is...

Back in 1959, USAF pilots used to be able to buzz through the canyon in training aircraft TF33's.

I used to bull's-eye womp rats in my T-16 back home. They're not much bigger than two meters.

pretty sweet though, love seeing planes rip through canyons.

Somewhere I have a video from the USAF of them flight testing the low level capabilities of the old B-58 Hustler four engine nuclear bomber from the '50's. To test it, they flew over mach 1 fifty feet above the ground through the desert, then buzzed the Grand Canyon working low level maneuvers. Pretty damn impressive.
