I used a heat gun to remove the decal from my hood. Just don't get the paint too hot, only heat up enough to soften the decal. I also used a plastic razor blade to help peel some of it off.

Heat gun may work and you can try spraying WD-40 under the lifted edge once you get it started.
However I want to mention that depending on how long the stripes have been on the car you do have the possibility of the cars exposed paint being faded and the paint covered by the stripes being a shade different from less exposure to the sun. Just something to think about. |
Take them off in a temperate area around ~70*, A garage is ok. Do not take them off in direct sunlight. I would use the heat gun as a last resort because it will make the decal leave behind a sticky residue.
Damage to the paint depends on how long the decals have been on, and your paint quality. The paint shade under the decals may be different. It may leave lines in the clear coat where the edges of the decal were. |

They make some sort of spray on stuff that removes the left over adhesive. I'm not sure what it is, but I think Melissa does.

might as well just leave them on lol
