Multimedia question

Question for you guys..

I have a projector that has component HD input and S video input but my laptop only outputs HDMI and VGA.

Maintaining HDMI is not important to me, as I don't think any of my videos on my hard drive are true HD. Also sound is not important, I have a sound card to my stereo vis toslink.

Any ideas?

VGA to s-video cable.

sweetbmxrider 12-28-2009 02:41 PM

yes, vga to s video.

LTb1ow 12-28-2009 02:42 PM

Ok, and that won't lose too much?

sweetbmxrider 12-28-2009 02:52 PM

what quality? s video is garbage IMO

LTb1ow 12-28-2009 02:53 PM

Well VGA can do 1080i and I think component can as well.

sweetbmxrider 12-28-2009 03:17 PM

yeah but it would depend on your video card in the comp.

LTb1ow 12-28-2009 03:18 PM

Oh yea def, and I think it sucks.

Just don't wanna get something that will hold back the quality if the comp can do it.

::edit....as posted above, with a disclaimer::

This might work: VGA to Component RGB

Read the description fully though, and make sure you laptop will support it before you buy, specifically:
Quote:

THIS CABLE WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO CONNECT YOUR COMPUTER'S VGA PORT TO THE COMPONENET INPUT ON YOUR HDTV unless your video card supports component out function through it's VGA port (please confirm with your video cards documentation before purchasing)
