Two More GM Cars: Buick Regal GS and Aveo RS

Regal GS will be in production next year when it shifts to Oshawa.
Aveo starts production next year and will look very close to this, sans 19's and body kit.

Full win on GS.

Full fail on Aveo.

BigAls87Z28 01-07-2010 11:37 PM

I dunno man...that Aveo is lookin like a killer. Possible 45, maybe 50mpg with an XFE model?
Its worlds better then the current Aveo, or anything else out there today.

Frosty 01-07-2010 11:47 PM

Option and practicality wise I'm sure it is a killer....but it also kills my eyes looking at it...I'm not digging the look at all. Hey, if it sells and puts a hurting on the competition then awesome...I just don't like the looks of it.

BigAls87Z28 01-07-2010 11:51 PM

Ah, ok. I think it looks outstanding. There is so much buzz bout the Fiesta for the last 2 years, but when you look at that car compred to the Aveo, the Aveo just looks 10 times more modern and cutting edge. So much more going on with the body work.

Knipps 01-07-2010 11:57 PM

Tony, I'm the complete opposite, the Regal looks boring to me. The Aveo is a little over the top but again, it's a concept, it'll be toned down when it's put into production.

Mike 01-07-2010 11:59 PM

absolutely loving the regal

bubba428 01-08-2010 12:01 AM

i didn't know GM bought scion???

wretched73 01-08-2010 12:07 AM

The regal is looking real good, and i think the aveo will sell to a lot of people who are looking at a smart car thinking its cool but the aveo seems a lot more practical

Head and tail lights, wheels, front and rear fascia, and side skirts are concept only...for now.

I see both cars as huge players. Regal fits perfect into Buick's relm, offering a sport sedan alternative to the regular day-to-day cars.

Regal GS is a friggggggin awesome car. I kinda wish they brought over teh 2.8Turbo...but this will do.

DaSkinnyGuy 01-08-2010 12:15 AM

Regal GS needs a turbo 3.8L

BigAls87Z28 01-08-2010 12:29 AM

Since that doesnt exist, dont see that happening.

bubba428 01-08-2010 01:10 AM

turbo 3.6?

BigAls87Z28 01-08-2010 02:03 AM

Possible. Since the 2.8 is in the same family as the 3.6. But I dont see it happening.
V6 option will be available once it comes state side.

S.J.SLEEPER 01-08-2010 07:47 AM

aveo looks like a Scion w/ a bowtie emblem super-glued on

BonzoHansen 01-08-2010 07:54 AM

Boy, the Buick design is polar opposite of the caddy and even Chevy angular designs. that is good. I kind of like that Buick.

Now the aveo, god the thing now is such a turd. I see the cars on the road today, that Aveo will sell more than today's POS.

qwikz28 01-08-2010 09:54 AM

i want that buick.

Iroc-z86 01-08-2010 10:10 AM

aveo is nice, not my cup of tea but gm needs something to take sales from those stupid box cars ie scions and that nissan pos that is uglier than ever.

the gs is hot. would def buy that. id want a v6 though. not a huge fan of 4 cyls.

that ecotech is pretty ballsy little engine. don't sell it short.

Is the Regal a new platform or based on another current GM car? It looks similar to the G8, would think a V8 version would be nice

its a little smaller than the current Chevy Malibu, so, a lot smaller than the g8... i think it shares a platform with one of gm's European cars

BonzoHansen 01-08-2010 10:59 AM

so like a 350z sized car with back seats?

I see, so a V8 wont really fit...... Was the G8 going to come back re-badged?

at first it was, then it wasnt, then it was, now i dunno

Tru2Chevy 01-08-2010 12:26 PM

Really digging that Regal!

The Aveo is meh....but I'm thinking that it will probably sell pretty well to the tuner market, so more power to 'em.
