Looking for Grade 8 nuts & bolts for subframe connectors

I getting a set of used subframe connectors and want to bolt them in for the time being. I need Grade 8- 3/8"24 by 4 1/2" and 3/8"24 by 3 1/2". I need four of each and 8 of the 3/8"24 elastic stop nuts. I got these sizes from Alston Racing who said these were the sizes they send with their subframe connectors. I can order them directly from them, but it's $17.00 with the shipping. I have tried Advance-NAPA-PepBoys-Lowe's and Home Depot with no luck.

Google fastenal. I know lawrence engineering in trenton will have them, but I bet a fastenal will have them and be closer.

I don't know why it needs to be fine pitch though.

Read this... they simply went to the GM dealer and ordered rear lower control arm bolts which are long enough for 4 dollars.

are you planning to weld them in? if so just weld them forget the bolts. Or if a shop is doing the work, you can still prep the SFC's, then have them weld them in.

yeah but you still need a bolt that is long enough to reach through the lca mounts because the bolt ins you'd have to cut if you didn't want to but the bolt through them.

Order them and then go pick them up at the will-call window, just off 195 in allentown....

Cheap and easy.

Fastenal will probably have what you need. There's one in Edison and Middlesex.

Thanks for the tips but as usual what I'am looking for is not to be found. I tried Fastenal but they only sell in BULK, tried Apple Fastners but no Grade 8 in that size.

When I go to the shop tommorrow I will see if we have what you are looking for. I think we have the 3 1/2 long ones but not sure about the 4 1/2 ones. I know we have the lock nuts too.

Fast92RS 02-04-2010 03:07 PM

Checked the shop for the bolts and no luck. The longest we had in 3/8" was 3". Sorry.

ALSTON RACING had them in stock. Going to bolt them in and weld later on.

Nice.

enjoy the subframe connectors! u can also get some extra nuts and use the "jam-nut" approach i was telling you about to help prevent the nuts backing out too
