Gas spring Help?!! Question!!
I am at work and cant go check my car so I was hoping some one could see what the over all length of the gas springs are on the Hood and the Hatch….
Are they 18” or 22”… for example Reason is my job is getting rid of some that they cant use- but they are new and work. Thanks in advance |
Can't help you with that, but don't you have an aftermarket hood now?
|
If they are free and they are trashing them today, why not take a bunch of different sizes or take what ever they are getting rid of?? Worse comes to worse you have to trash them yourself...
|
thanks, guys-
Am that is just what i did, I got a couple of sizes and to be honest even if its an inch off ( or something in reason) I probly can make them work... Thanks again |
Have a little experience with gas springs from fabricating opening windshields on my boat, but I am far from an expert on the subject.....
They should have a psi or LBS rating on them. If they are too powerful for the hood, they can bend the mounts, or just make the hood fly up when released. And if too weak, well the hood won't stay up. See if you can match any numbers from the OEM springs to what you get from work. |
