special thanks to all of our troops
 

just wanted to say a special thanks to all of our njfboa'ers in the armed forces. i dont think you get thanked enough.

reason for this thread is i was at applebees today just hanging after my shift at famous daves and a marine walks in with a few friends, he was in his dress uniform. one of his friends knew one of my friends and came over, i asked about the marine, apparently he recently completed his training and was being deployed soon.

i called over my server who also happened to be serving their table too, and said if he gets another beer tell him its on me. he got another beer and after he found out it was on me he walked up and said thank you. i said what are you saying thank you for..haha thank YOU for your service and what you are doing for us, we all greatly appreciate it. hes smiled and said you're welcome.

just sometimes i dont think our armed forces get thanked enough for what they are doing..so thank you.

I used to have people come up to me quite often when I was out in public in my BDUs or ACUs. It really makes us feel good to know that some people really do appreciate the work being done. It always made me feel warm inside especially when a kid came up to me and thanked me, or an older person telling me I am just a kid myself. Unfortunately a lot of people also look down on the war and soldiers sometimes.

thanks guys, it really is appreciated. right before i left for Iraq me and a couple other guys from the base went to Chilis and a woman walked up and paid for all 4 of our meals + drinks. i was stunned
