Coils as in coilpacks, as in ignition components?

LS1 car? That means it had one of it's 8 ignition coils replaced. Usually coil springs are reffered to as springs.

that sounds like it's the right description, the car's a v6 firebird 2002. HOPEfully itll be in my possession within the next couple of weeks. Just need my parents to go check it out this weekend and confirm it.

but, for the owner to claim there are 4 coils, and he only replaced 1... Lmao why??

An '02 v6 bird will have 3 coils, not 4. Could be just a typo.

And stock coils typically last a long time - if one died, there is no real need to replace them all.
