Crazy idea with my 2 cars
I don't know if my thinking is off, but if I were to get a new camaro which is the next car I will get. What would I do with my 2 cars?
I can't sell my 3rd gen which is decent but tired. My dad and I share it even though he doesn't drive much. The body is solid but the car is just rough and I have little $ into except all of the repairs to make it drivable. For my 4th gen I have 10k miles now on my engine and trans that was rebuilt and have a lot of $ into those items and would lose a lot to move this car and I like a lot of things in the car. Which brings me to my idea. Do an LS engine and trans swap swap in my GTA and a lot of the other things will also fit over. Rear suspension gas tank Recaro seats etc. Then part out the remainder of all the extras hood spoiler wheels remaining body parts etc of the 4th gen. I can keep all 3 cars potentially but I'm just thinking out loud. If you were me would you consider it worth your time. Am I stupid for bringing this idea to the table and creating extra work for myself and potentially more $ to make it all work? |
nah bro i like it go for whatever you want OR just spend extra $$$$$ and keep all three!

i see no reason to tear down the formula and try to swap it all into the gta, thats a lot of time and even more money to do, especially if you pay somebody else to do the work.
Besides, parting a car out blows and it will sit for a long time while you try to sell parts. Since the formula is the toy, i would keep that, ditch the gta and get whatever you want for a new DD and put the formy on weekend duty if thats what you want to do. If you are talking about getting a "new" 5th gen camaro, personally i would wait a couple more years and see what they come out with and let them find and fix all the issues. |
if you decide to part the formula... i may be interested in the complete front clip minus the structural parts... just the fenders light assms bumper and possibly hood depending on what one you have... for the right $$ of coarse... keep me in mind if you do that... i love the ls1 formula front ends...

i would be all for combining the third and fourth gens into one superbadass thirdgen....i would be....if your car wasnt so bad freaking ass

Your formula is too nice to do that to IMO. Like Jay said.

I had too many legos as a kid. I was just goin through a lot of scenarios and its already been 5 years since i bought the car stock. I just wanted someone to say i was stupid in not so many words. Im gonna wait for the 2011 camaro to be into full swing until im ready, but its gonna be my next car.
