So I was taking a gander at the "Prius forums" LOL!!!

Not really, but I stumbled on it a while back when I was searching for wheels for my last car and I forgot to post this up. Definately made my day.

As if it's not funny enough they have a forum dedicated to one of the ugliest hunks of disposable crap on the planet...I read the 1 thread that the great google pointed me to.

These guys are going back and forth on a multiple page thread about buying wheels...to make the car get BETTER gas mileage. I mean they're getting downright technical about the subject as far as diameters, weights, types of tires and the like. Not saying their logic is entirely wrong but spending $500-1000 on a set of wheels because they get me an extra .43 mpg...well...just...no. What will that save you $100 over the life of the car?

See people...don't buy a prius. This is what happens when you have a forum made up of 43yr old star trek loving, tree hugging, hippies who live in their parents' basement.

sooooooooo............ what wheels did they decide on? :D

almost half a mile per gallon is a pretty decent gain....10 more miles on a 20 gallon tank....

Yeah really. You should talk to the Volt engineers reguarding aero and weight. They put a slight lip on the rear molded deck spoiler and gained .1 mile more on electric power. GM is using forged aluminum wheels and low rolling resistance Goodyear tires on it for another couple.
Its insane what they do. Volt has the 2nd best .cD out of any GM car ever. #1 was the EV-1.

They care about efficiency like we care about speed.

It's really not too surprising, each car has it's own personality type that fits the owner so it's no real surprise that Prius owners are into being green and saving money.

I'm personally an obnoxious %#! who is a total attention whore so naturally I got a black limo tinted WS6 and cruise around with an open cutout. If you showed them our threads on installing huge lopey cams to take a second off our 1/4 mile that we do twice per year and spend hundreds of extra dollars in gas every year for that single second, they would think we were legally insane.

Unfortunately the manufacturing process for a priius is more destructive than oil
