new carb suggestions?
 

im replacing my stock 2 barrel carb for a 4 barrel on my 307. do you think any of these are a good choice?

On that engine I'd stay around 600-650 cfm and probably vac secondaries (what trans are you running?). That 750 is too big unless you are doing lots of other stuff to that engine too. Do you need a choke? What manifold are you using - spread bore or square bore?

iv got a 350 hydamatic trans and a choke would be nice since its very cold in the morning. as for the bore, i dont know what it is, ill have to look. is it possible to buy and adapter for spread to square or square to spread bore?

what intake are you putting on? you can;t just bolt a 4bbl to a 2bbl intake.

It is possible to buy a spreadbore to squarebore adapter for a carb, assuming you mean going from Q-jet to square bore. Pep boys sells it.

Alot of guys may disagree, but if all you are looking to do is upgrade to a four barrel carb, I would buy an edelbrock performer intake manifold, ( you can probably find one used for like 50 bucks) and use a performer 1406 carb. (600cfm.) I had this setup on a 305 chevy. It ran great with no issues and I got away with no adjustments whatesoever. The standard holley 600cfm carb you can buy at pep boys would also be a great choice for an otherwise stock 307.

A performer manifold is a good call. New manifold means no adapter needed. I'd probably go 600 Holley with vac secondaries and electric choke. Check the holley remains on the summit website.

After concluding that you cant put a 4 barrel carb on a 2 barrel manifold, I stumbled across a 2bbl to 4 bbl carb adapter at pep boys yesterday hahaha! I wouldnt recommend doing this, but just so you know, they do exist!

Sounds good man. Thats what I have in my 72. Ede/AFB's are easy to tune and are great for teh street esp with the electric choke.
