Pushrod length question

If I have a stock LS1 with stock parts (7,400" pushrods) If I were to mill 0.035" off the deck of the heads and put them back on the car can I use the same pushrods?

Ive never put together an ls1, but I milled .050 off of the heads on my gen 1 350, and Im using the stock pushrods. If the valves adjust the same way the older motors do, Id say you can get away with that.

I would use a 7.35" pushrod. It's always better to be a little on the short side than the long side.

i was going to say the same but i thought the ls style rockers were different with setting preload and whatnot.

Same as any full bodied roller rocker... just torque em down.

i meant more like a shaft mount where exact pushrod length isn't necessary.

The stock one will work just fine. 7.35 may be short. Lt1's and gen 1's have adjustible rockers. Ls1's do not

LS1's use a rocker stand where as older motors you torque the nut down on the rocker.

LS1 rocker bolts are torqued to 22 Ft. Lbs. with 3/4 to 1 1/4 turn of preload.

Is there a calculator for the pushrod length? I am doing a cam swap and also wonderring pushrod length on my LS1.
