Hey, you should try Bob at http://www.hanlonmotorsports.com/

Not sure your location, but there is a shop in andover nj that built many transmissions for me, two t56 transmissions. I am good friends w him and could get anyone a good deal, with warranty

I've been looking for a while now, Hanlon seems to have the best reputation and also charges the least labor out of the 5 or 6 places I've tried

SilverDropTop 05-28-2010 11:47 AM

Any idea what a performance rebuild goes for? I'm also in the market for one.

creeper 05-28-2010 08:51 PM

This is what's going into mine as far as parts, prices vary a bit builder to builder:

Carbon Fiber Synchronizer (blocker) Ring Kit $179.99
Bronze 1-2 & 3-4 Fork Pad Kit $64.99
Billet 3-4 Synchronizer Keys $64.99
Steel 3-4 Shift Fork $49.99

You could also do bronze 5-6 and reverse pads, but I don't see a real reason since you don't slam those gears often. Hanlon charges $375 for labor and $220 for a refresh kit, so add that to whatever you want from above and that should give you a general idea.

Any of you guys used Tick for a rebuild? They seem to have a pretty good rep on LS1tech

JSPERFORMANCE 06-11-2010 08:19 AM

Hanlon has been doing Tremec transmissions for like a million years and in my opinion is THE AUTHORITY on these things.. He is also within driving distance (unlike the other guys who are in NC).. Why look further for anything less?? Besides he supports the club which should be reason enough to use his services.

My Hanlon Motorsports T5 has withstood every bit of abuse I can put it through and we all know I can break some parts..

BonzoHansen 06-11-2010 09:30 AM

All that. I've met people all over who've used his service. Add me top that list at the end of this summer. And you won't meet a nicer guy.
